Between now and the onset of edits, my theme is trying to get a grip on things that have slipped. As always, that includes the Hollow garden, which I spoke to a few days ago. I told it that this was its point of maximum chaos, and from here on things were going to be different.
How familiar that sounds...
Anyway, a quick round of weeding is in session, which takes a considerable time. Hard-edged raised beds need to be changed to soft-edged (i.e. no boards), mulch applied, the strawberry patch tidied up, new potato beds dug, green manure sown... my head is reeling.
However, this year I am resolved not to make impossible lists on scraps of paper, which then taunt me with their unfinishedness until they are finally thrown away, with much swearing. No. This year I am going to be much more organised, because...
...I'm making an online list. Oh yes - HWz has discovered toodledo.com. This is a free service that lets you tap everything in as it occurs to you, with priorities and optional 'do by' dates; as the date comes closer, it gives things a higher 'importance' so that they slide up the list. I know, I know, it sounds like a gimmick... and it probably is one, but right now it's working for me. Mind you, I have to watch what I say to Witchypoo, who dismisses all such things as nerdery of the highest order. I mean, can you imagine it?
WP: I fell over N2S's bike in the garage last night.
HWz: (through mouthful of cereal) Mmm.
WP: You said you'd clear the garage.
A PAUSE
HWz: (thoughtfully) Mmm.
WP: Any chance you could tackle that today?
HWz: (incredulously) Are you joking? That's only priority two!
WP: What?
HWz: Two! It's only a two! Forking the compost heap out onto the old brassica beds is a five, planting the onions
is a four, and finding out why our old ISP are still billing us three months after we left them is a three!
Why would I ignore all those to tackle a mere two? I ask you!
A LONGER PAUSE
WP: Have you tried valium?

Good to see you back again. :)
If it's any comfort, we officially broke our garden. The veggie plot is under approx. three tonnes of clay courtesy of digging foundations for the extension, and raised beds are but a distant memory.
However.
I have got some tomatoes on the go.
Ahem.
LOl your post made laugh my head my head off
it reminds me of conversations me and my husband have with me having the list, i can be a bit compulsive at times
